The Saginaw Spirit's No. 1 pick in the 2012 Ontario Hockey League priority selection draft, Jeremiah Addison, had a hat trick to lead the Windsor Spitfires to a 4-2 semi-final win over the Erie Otters in a semi-final game at the 99th annual Memorial Cup tournament at the WFCU Centre in Windsor, ON Thursday night.

The Memorial Cup is a 4-team round robin tournament featuring the top team from each of the three leagues that comprise the Canadian Hockey League (Ontario Hockey League, Western Hockey League, and Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) along with one host city team (much like the Olympics) which rotates between the three leagues each year.

Windsor was named the host city this year and The Otters, who were the 2016-17 champions of the OHL, would go on to beat the Saint John Seadogs (champions of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) 6-3 in the other semi-final, setting up an all OHL final Sunday night at the WFCU Centre in Windsor, ON.

The third team, representing the Canadian Hockey League at this years Memorial Cup was the Seattle Thunderbirds, champions of the Western Hockey League.

Addison, a 6-foot, 190-pound LW from Brampton, ON was drafted by the Montreal Candadiens in the seventh round of the 2015 NHL draft after being traded to the Ottawa 67's by the Spirit before the 2014-15 OHL season, then was traded to Windsor as an overage player to start the 2016-17 season.

Talyor Raddysh of the Erie Otters leads all scorers at this years Memorial Cup with 11-points (5-goals, 6-assists) in 4-games followed by 4 of his teammates: Dylan Strome 9-points (6-goals, 3-assists), Alex DeBrincat 9-points (2-goals, 7-assists),  Anthony Cirelli 8-points (1-goal, 7-assists), and older brother of Taylor, Darren Raddysh 7-points (3-goals, 4-assists).

Addison is in a second place tie for most goals with the younger Raddysh (5-goals) brother, and is sixth overall in scoring with 6-points (5-goals, 1-assist) however, he has also played one less game (3) than the others after an automatic bid to the finals with the win over the Otters.

The puck is set to drop at 7 pm (EST) for Sunday night's Memorial Cup final at the WFCU Centre in downtown Windsor, ON. It will be broadcast nationally throughout Canada on Sportsnet and TVA Sports, and broadcast nationally on the NHL Network in the United States.
