Given the controversy generated by Democrats surrounding the DOGE team, here is a brief history lesson on your Social Security Card in the event you were not aware of these facts. Each of these points is easy to check out and it doesn’t matter whether you consider yourself a Democrat or a Republican, because facts are facts.

• Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated that  the number and
Card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the
United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the
message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION was removed from the card.

• When Democratic President Franklin Roosevelt  introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised: 1) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary. Today, it is no longer voluntary. 2) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program, Now that figure is 7.65% on the first $90,000.

• Originally, the money  participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year Today it is no longer tax deductible

• Originally, the money participants put into Social Security went to the Independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the General Operating Fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program; however, under President Lyndon Johnson the money was moved to The General Fund and spent largely to fund the Vietnam War and other social programs.

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away -- you may be interested in the following:

• Originally, the annual payments to retirees were never taxed as income, however under President Bill Clinton up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed. Vice President Al Gore cast the tie-breaking deciding vote on this issue as President of the Senate.

• While many mistakenly believe it was President Joe Biden who decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants, it was actually under Democratic President Jimmy Carter that immigrants moving into this country and at age 65 began to receive Social Security payments, even though they never paid a dime into the system as was originally intended.

• Ironically, after violating the original FICA contract, the Democrats are now attempting to erroneously claim Republicans are attempting to take your Social Security away, when in fact they are attempting to cut wasteful spending and remove fraud to make the system solvent once again after being pilfored for decades.

Forensic audits that can be tracked daily through the DOGE site reveal how social security benefits were being paid to 879 people between the age of 200-209; 210 - 219 years-old, 866 people. 220 - 229 years old, 1,039 people. 229 -249 years old, 2 people. and believe it or not,, 1 person that is 360 years-old.

Even more astounding, apparently a total of 394,943,364 are receiving benefits, yet the United States only has a  total population of 334 million.  The Trump Administration has assured there will be no reduction or elimintation of benefit payments to legitimate recipients while much needed triage is being performed to stop the financial hemorrhaging of the system and address the issues presented by this troubilng evidence, which once resolved could indeed make the system solvent and secure once again.
