Loons end 3 game losing streak with Walk Off Win

Loons defeat Dragons 4-3 in bottom of 9th inning

The Great Lakes Loons open home stand with walk off win 4-3 on game winning hit by Matt Beaty.  The Loons trailed going into the eighth inning and scored a run to knot the score at 3-3.   However after an intentional walk to put two men on with two outs Beaty came through with his 4th hit of evening to give the Loons a walk off win over the Dayton Dragons. 

With the win the Loons stay over .500 on the season with a 61-60 record.   They now stand at 23 -30 in the second half of the season.  The Loons jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning with 4 singles and a walk.  The Dragons would fight back and take the lead in the 6th inning with two runs for a 3-2 lead.  The Dragons would have 9 hits on the evening while the Loons would tally 12 hits. 

Jordan Tarsovich who would score the game winning run had two hits on the night along with teammate Brian Wolfe.  Bubby Rossman would pick up the win in one inning of relief work for the last place Loons.   Great Lakes is actually now tied with the Dayton Dragons for last place.  4,214 fans enjoyed the cool evening with the Loons coming back for the victory.   Great Lakes will now play the Dragons two more times before hosting the Bowling Green Hot Rods for 3 games.   The Loons need to play consistent baseball over the last two and a half weeks before opening the Midwest League playoffs at home on Wednesday September 9th.
