Omar Estevez' late inning heroics does it again in Loons 4-3 walkoff win

Loons have now won 8 of their last 9 and are just a half game back of Lansing for final playoff spot...

The Great Lakes Loons battled back to beat the Fort Wayne Tincaps (San Diego Padres) 4-3 on a walk off hit by Omar Estevez at Dow Diamond Monday night. 
 
Gage Green entered as a pinch runner for Jake Henson who led off the bottom of the ninth with a single. 
 
Darien Tubbs bunted, but the Tincaps were able to get Green on a force at second as Tubbs reached on a fielders choice. 
 
After Saige Jenco flied out, Luke Raley was hit by a pitch, moving Tubbs to second where Estevez would drive him in.
 
The Loons had been trailing 3-2 until Ibandel Isabel tied the game at 3-3 with his sixth home run of the year in the bottom of the eighth inning.
 
The Loons (27-29) have now won 8 of their last 9 games and remain just a half game behind the Lansing Lugnuts (28-29) for the final Midwest League playoff spot.   
 
Jordan Sheffield (4.32 ERA) and Dean Kremer (1.29 ERA) shared the piggy-back start for the Loons and would combine to give up just 2-hits and 1 run as they each pitched two innings. 
 
Dennis Santana (5-9, 2.99 ERA) earned his fifth win for the Loons giving up 2-runs on 2-hits and 1 walk while striking out 8 Fort Wayne batters through 5-innings. 
 
The Loons will look to make it 9 out of 10 wins at Dow Diamond again tonight when they host Fort Wayne for game two of a four game series at 7:05 pm.
