The Saginaw Sting walked over the Dayton Silverbacks with a 35-7 victory at the Dow Event Center to capture their second straight Championship.  Before a franchise attendance record 3,850 people the Sting turned up the heat on the Silverbacks who 3 weeks earlier they defeated 41-25.

Quarterback Tommy Jones lead the Sting again down the field at ease throwing 4 touchdown passes.  The likely League MVP was running the ball more often tonight to run the clock down at the Sting were on their way to a perfect 9-0 season.  This would be their 2nd straight Indoor Football League Championship.  Last year the Sting competed in the United Indoor Football League.   This year found them playing in the 6 team Continental Indoor Football League.

Running Back Keath Bartynski had another strong game finishing with a touchdown reception and over 70 yards of total offense on the shortened field.  Being the only back in this 8 man football league carries quite a load of protecting the quarterback.  Bartynski had a night to remember.

The Saginaw Sting were presented the Championship Trophy and the players celebrated in front of the large crowd.  It was exciting down at the Dow Event Center on this evening.  I'm sure the Sting ownership saw some positives from the team this season and hopefully something to build on for next year.  I'm not sure that the CIFL will be around again next year but I feel that this team proved that it could play in almost any indoor football league out there.
