Game one saw the Old Golds lose to the Columbus Capitals 16-9 in bracket play.  The next game the Capitals lost to the Lah-De-Dahs.  For the Old Golds to advance to the Championship game they had to score 14 runs and allow 7 and under against the Lah-De-Dahs.   Magically the score ended up 14 to 7 and the Golds advanced to the Championship round on Sunday.

Sunday the Golds defeated Bay City 12 to 4 to find themselves in the finals for the 7th time in 9 years.

Walker Tavern who had been scoring 20+ runs a game all season jumped off to a 4 nothing lead in the first.

John Piersall with a great defense behind him shut down Walker for the next straight 8 innings to win going away 12-4.

It is the Golds 6th World Title

Hitting the ball all weekend long was Jerry Endert.  The fielding by left fielder John Smith and right fielder Bryce Funchion was nothing short of phenomenal.  Catcher Adam McCauley was catching tip backs all day Sunday.

The team’s defensive playing from every player made this happen.
