Recently studies by Tax Lawyers and Tax Bookkeepers show that Republican policies only benefit the wealthiest 0.5 Americans at a cost to everyone below including most of their own supporters and today's Democratic Party only benefits the top 10% and hurts everyone below including most of their own supporters. Three meetings of Bernie Sanders for President supporters were held in the Tri-cities on July 29. 35 people attended in Bay City, 44 in Saginaw and 20 in Midland. The Vermont Senator gave a 20-minute video address and over 100,000 people attended the 3,500 campaign kick-off events across the USA.

The election of Michigan’s Supreme Court is truly an oddity.  Every two years prospective candidates vie for a seat on Michigan’s court of last resort.  This year, two of the seven seats are up for vote, with one spot to serve for a full 8-year term and the second to fill the remaining two years of the term that was vacated in 2013, when then Justice Diane Hathaway was convicted of real estate fraud.
