Game one saw the Old Golds lose to the Columbus Capitals 16-9 in bracket play. The next game the Capitals lost to the Lah-De-Dahs. For the Old Golds to advance to the Championship game they had to score 14 runs and allow 7 and under against the Lah-De-Dahs. Magically the score ended up 14 to 7 and the Golds advanced to the Championship round on Sunday.

The South had actually taken a 6-5 lead in the top of the seventh, however, as the weather came in, officials called the game a tie because the North was unable to bat in the bottom half of the inning....

Although the South actually had taken a 6-5 lead midway through the seventh inning, today's 2017 High School All Star Game was officially ruled a 5-5 tie due to impending weather, which caused the North team to lose its final at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning at Dow Diamond this afternoon.

The Saginaw Old Gold’s opened with a 12-7 win over the Cleveland Blues. Jon “GAME BALL” Smith starred, going 5 for 5. Adam McCauley made 5 putouts catching. Game Two, the Gold’s dropped a game in a rain storm to Forest City 11-8.

Basketball star Brian 'Tugs' Bowen added another piece of hardware to his growing collection after being name co-MVP (along with University of Miami FL commit Lonnie Walker Jr.) at the Jordan Brand Classic boys national game in Brooklyn, NY this afternoon. The game was nationally televised on ESPN.
