Color & Contour: Recent Work from Paul Chaffee's Studio

Posted in: Art

Color and Contour is a selection of former Saginaw News publisher and editor Paul Chaffee’s most recent studio works, using color and unusual materials to create a composition independent from visual references in the real world. Paul says he has “a narrow corridor of creativity: crafting art using unconventional materials.” For many of his large format works, Paul treated oversized canvases with a high-copper content material, followed with a saturated oxygen liquid which results in a chemical reaction that produces a true verdigris. This exhibition features sixteen pieces, framed smaller format works and large colorful canvases. The exhibition is on display at the Andersen Enrichment Center, 120 Ezra Rust, across from Ojibway Island in Saginaw. Exhibit hours are 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Runs thru Jan. 24.
