Saints, Sinners and Song Gala

Posted in: Concerts

In its twelfth year - 2016 - "Saints, Sinners and Song" will take center stage at the Museum on Oct. 7. Songs and music from the Great American Songbook, the 1920s to 1950s era of music created for Broadway theatre, musical theatre and Hollywood musical films will be featured. Many of the region's finest artists will again donate a work of art to the silent art auction and several culinary artists will donate dinners for 8 to 20 guests. Auctioneer Mike Furlo will charm the audience with his not-so-timid maneuvers to get the highest possible bid on every item. SVSU dining services will present delectable and popular foods and cocktails from the 1920s and 30s. The annual “Saints and Sinners” affair has become one of the most popular and anticipated fall season events in the Great Lakes Bay Region. If you enjoy the music of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, Richard Rogers and many others, you won't want to miss this event. And remember, you are helping the Museum raise funds for its many educational projects and programs. Marshall Fredericks Sculpture Museum, 7400 Bay Rd., University Center. 5:30 - 11 pm.
