Finally on a sunny day in downtown Detroit the Tigers are starting to shine again with their fourth straight win.   The Tigers defeated the Minnesota Twins behind another strong pitching performance from Justin Verlander.   Verlander would pitch 7 1/3 innings with 10 strikeouts and allowed 3 runs in the game.   He raised his record to 3-4 on the season.

The first five batters in the Tiger line-up had at least 2 hits each with Ian Kinsler stroking out 3 hits.  Included in those 3 knocks was a home run which now gives him 4 games in a row with a Home Run.   J.D. Martinez, Miguel Cabrera, Nick Castellanos and Justin Upton all would pound out 2 hits on the way to a 13 hit attack.   The Tigers were in complete command the entire game on this sunny and hot day at the ball park.

Frank Rodriquez would come on in the 9th inning to close out the game for his 11th save of the year.  The Detroit record now stands at 19-21 after winning their fourth straight.   29.035 fans showed up to cheer the Tigers onto their victory.   Detroit will have a day off on Thursday and then open up a series with the Tampa Bay Rays at Comerica Park over the weekend.

Detroit boasts some potent bats at the top of the line-up that are now starting to score in games like they did before.   Now with 4 straight wins the fans are getting excited again.   They need to keep up the consistent hitting and keep the pitching performances at a high level giving them a chance to move about the .500 level.
